Department of Work and Pensions Contract

A Contract has been awarded by the Department of Work and Pensions to Norfolk Credit Union for the delivery of the Growth Fund in Norfolk. The fund allows the Credit union to provide more loans to qualifying low income families.

Local Development Fund

A grant has been awarded by the Local Development Fund, administered by Norfolk Rural Community Council, to allow the Credit Union to start a young savers account. This will allow those 0 to 16 years of age who are currently too young to join the Credit Union to join our new Bee Savers Club. This will initially be started at a few selected schools and youth groups and then be rolled out across Norfolk as funds and volunteer time permits.

Housing Associations and Local Authorities

Negotiations are well advanced for new working partnership agreements with Housing Associations and Local Authorities in Norfolk. It is expected that the first ones starting in early 2008 will be with Broadland Housing Association, Peddars Way Housing Association, Wherry Housing Association and Broadland District Council.
